Technical Abstract: Toxoplasma gondii and Neospora caninum are protozoan parasites with a wide host range. They cause abortion and neonatal mortality in livestock and suffering in companion animals. In this chapter life cycle, structure, biology, pathogenicity, clinical signs, diagnosis, treatment and public health concerns of toxoplasmosis and neosporosis affecting dogs and cats are reviewed.
